An introduction to the Homeobotancials Herbal Blend BE CALM.

Lets face it in the world we live in right now we could all do with being a little more calm.

Be Calm is one of my favourite homeoherb blends and I have used it myself a lot for anxiety and when I am feeling overwhelmed and stressed.  I also use it when I am waking up in the night or finding it hard to go to sleep with an overactive mind. Just three drops on my tongue and I feel the calm wash over me.

We have five herbs within this blend which blended together give us this beautiful but powerful homeobotanicals blend.

These are the herbs you can find within Be Calm and I share with you how each of them can support you.

Ashwagnandha – Has a combination of amino acids L-Lysine and L-arginine.  These amino acids may influence brain neurotransmitters that are involved with stress and anxiety.  Ashwagandha helps to relax the mind by elevating the mood and reducing stress, anxiety and depression.  Ashwaganda is an analgesic that soothes the nervous system from pain response.

Lemon Balm – has traditionally been used to improve mood and cognitive functions, relieves  stress. Reduces anxiety and depression, eases insomnia and other sleep disorders.

Sage – is used for depression and it also supports memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. I don’t know about you but when I havent slept well I sometimes find myself forgetting things.  Of course, menopause can also find us being a bit more forgetful.

St John’s Wort – This herb has been used for hundreds of years to treat mental health problems, nervousness, depression, tiredness, poor appetite, seasonal affective disorder, anxiety and sleep problems.  The magnesium in St John’s Wort assists in the alleviation of anxiety.  St John’s Wort is probably one of the herbs most people have heard of and is used alot by people that would like to try an alternative to anti-depressants from the doctor.  Please do this with the guidance of your GP.

Thyme – helps to reduce anxiety and stress related blood pressure.  High in vitamin C equal to 3 times more vitamin C than oranges and one of the highest vitamin C concentrate of all herbs. Thyme contains Vitamin B6 a nutrient used to combat stress.  B6 aids the body in constructing neurotransmitters like serotonin. Normal serotonin levels in the brain are used to help cope with depression, anxiety and stress.  Serotonin is what I call the happy hormone so it is really important that you find something you can do for yourself that brings you happiness. This doesnt have to be huge it could just be a walk in nature, watching your favourite TV program or a coffee with a friend that makes you laugh.
